Continue to the dramatic Lochnagar Mine Crater, a vast reminder of the destructive force unleashed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Then visit Beaumont-Hamel, where preserved trenches offer a vivid glimpse into the battlefield experience of the Newfoundland Regiment.
